I have always had an admiration for the work that the Habitat for Humanity organization does. I recently reached out to the local organization on Cape Cod to lend a hand at the Golf Tournament. The staff organized a great event to raise money for the Cape Cod organization. One of the ways they raise money throughout the year is by operating RESTORES. The location in Yarmouth and Falmouth accept donated furniture and household items from around the Cape and sell it to those in need. One program that really interested me was the "DECONSTRUCTION" program. Volunteers come to your home when you are remodeling your kitchen and disassemble your old cabinets. Some of these cabinets are sold in the restores and some are used to build homes around the Cape. As a realtor, I see a lot of kitchens on the Cape that simply need some cosmetic updates like paint or new knobs. Some kitchen remodels are done just to change the layout and nothing is wrong with the cabinets.
